Scope
Most children enter kindergarten unprepared—not only in literacy and numeracy, but in confidence, social-emotional grounding, and curiosity. Prelude’s vision was to bridge play and preparation, creating a trusted platform where joyful experiences build the whole child.
The identity needed to speak credibly to parents and educators while reflecting childlike joy; function as an umbrella brand for Finnegan today and future products; and flex across digital platforms, classrooms, and homes.

The work began with three distinct brand directions, each a different lens on Prelude’s mission and a different balance of structure and play, confidence and creativity.
Outside the Lines emerged as the strongest route: a child-facing system rooted in bold expression and the vibrant chaos of early learning. Inspired by pop art and the playful unpredictability of color—blends, overlaps, and bursts—it makes room for imperfection, spontaneity, and individuality.
Abstract shapes, layered hues, grain, and a customized wordmark create a flexible language that can move from expressive child-facing moments to clear, trusted adult-facing communication.

The result is a visual identity with a point of view before it becomes a toolkit: a system designed to make curiosity, inclusivity, and messy meaningful growth feel visible.
The final expression carries that thinking into campaigns, digital experiences, and product moments. The execution matters because it proves the concept can flex—but the strategic value is the system underneath it.
